Compassion

" Compassion is not complete until it includes yourself"
                                                          Gautama Buddha

So true, but sadly seldom thought about or practiced in our day to day lives.
The teachings and philosophy of Gautama Buddha appeal most to me.
Gautama Buddha ( Prince Siddhartha) lived centuries before Christ and taught humanity invaluable and eternal gems.
He was an agnostic ( born into a royal Hindu family in Kapilavastu--in modern day Nepal).

Harnessing your energy

There is no doubt that Positive Thinking harnesses your energy in the right direction.
Positive thoughts will lead to positive speech, to positive actions that will undoubtedly
result in positive results.
In the humdrum of daily life we are often caught up in petty and negative thinking.
This drains our energy and decreases our productivity.
Positive thinking ,on the other hand, energizes you and leads to more pleasant interactions with colleagues, friends and last but not the least your family. This will entail in your being more happy.
As the ancient Hindu scriptures loftily proclaim--" the ultimate aim in life is SATCHIDANADAM--
( eternal happiness ).
So-let's all make a resolution right away to start working on the art and science of positive thinking.

vacation vs vocation

Vacation without Vocation is meaningless;
Vacation with Vocation is Fun!

It's only when you have a job(vocation) for most of the year that you can enjoy a vacation.
If you don't have a meaningful and regular job ,a continuous vacation(even if you can afford one) is futile and does not gratify you.
The hum-drum of daily life(work) gives structure and meaning to one's life as well as self-esteem.

Starbucks

If you keep going to Starbucks frequently, pretty soon your "bucks" will dry up and you will start seeing"stars" in the daylight.

Being alone vs being lonely

When you are lonely, be not alone When you are alone ,be not lonely The above sounds like a paradox or to some repetitive or confusing.. When you stop to ponder a while the truth strikes you. When you are lonely you should strive not to be alone. You may seek the company of family or good friends who understand your mindset better than others. When you are alone, you should keep your mind occupied by any activity that you like like Reading,Writing, listening to music or "blogging". Dear friends, what are your thoughts on this? Please feel free to post your responses. Thanks. Vidyasagar Reddy Bollampalli
